The Gallipoli peninsula preserves the WWI battlefields where Turkish, Australian and New Zealand soldiers fought in 1915, from Anzac Cove and Lone Pine to Chunuk Bair and the original trenches. It is a deeply moving place of remembrance, easily combined with nearby Troy on tours from Istanbul.
